Article by Cheryl Moreno: It’s not about the setback; it’s about the comeback.

I’m training to participate in my third Project Athena adventure. Wonder why I do it? I love setting hug goals and jumping into extreme challenges. I love pushing myself physically, hiking with others and raising money for a great cause. So here I am, training and working hard for the Project Athena Sedona Vortex Adventure Trek.
I love this heartfelt statement by Robyn Benecasa, CEO and Founder of the Project Athena Foundation. It’s so true. No matter the circumstance — whether physical, mental or emotional — the comeback is critically important.
I hope you will support me and this great cause, the nonprofit that turns survivors into athletes….even me!

Last year’s Zion Traverse adventure introduced me to seven brave cancer survivors who were sponsored and experienced their comeback by your generous donations. I told all my friends that was my last crazy adventure, and yet, here I am again! The foundation’s vision of providing everything needed to individuals who have experienced mental or medical trauma to experience a life-affirming comeback aligns perfectly with my life purpose.
You can donate today online to support me and the #VintageHikingGals.
